Laekjavik

Lækjavík is a small black-sand cove just off the Ring Road on Iceland's east coast, between Höfn and Djúpivogur. A lone sea stack rises from the surf, dark cliffs frame the bay, and green, waterfall-streaked hills stand behind it. It adds up to a lot of scenery for an easy roadside stop. Most visitors take in the view from the top; scramble down over the rocks and you often have the beach to yourself.
